St. Konrad (Bad Neustadt an der Saale)
St. Konrad is a Roman Catholic parish church in Bad Neustadt an der Saale in the Diocese of Würzburg . It is the central church in the Gartenstadt district .
history
The urban area of Gartenstadt emerged from 1938 due to the increased need for living space for the city's new industrial companies. From 1952, the decision to build a church for the garden city matured. Up to this point there was only a makeshift chapel in a barrack of the emergency shelters for refugees.
The first pastor was the popular Leonhard Schilling. The consecration took place on 1st / 2nd May 1954 by the Würzburg bishop Julius Döpfner .
The five bells were installed in November 1956. They were cast by Friedrich Wilhelm Schilling in Heidelberg and sound in major.
