Karl Manninger
Karl Manninger (born February 1, 1912 in Würzburg , † October 6, 2002 in Pöcking ) was a German church painter.
The painter Karl Manninger was particularly known for his numerous reconstructions and repainting of old wall paintings, which he often carried out together with his student and colleague Hermenegild Peiker. In 1986 the painter received the Upper Bavarian Culture Prize . He was a bearer of the Bavarian Order of Merit and a knight of the papal New Year's Eve. Manninger lived in Pöcking on Lake Starnberg .

- 1960, cross-facade sgraffiti on the new building of the Maria Ward School Aschaffenburg (partially lost)
- 1964–1966: Restoration of the ceiling frescoes in the “Fürstensaal” and “Marble Hall” of Bruchsal Castle
- 1968: Fresco "Christ as Judge of the World" in St. Vitus Church, Stockdorf
- 1970: Reconstruction of the wall paintings in Alt Sankt Peter in Munich
- 1971–1975, 1990: Reconstruction of the central nave frescoes in the Catholic parish church of the Holy Spirit , Munich
