The parish church of St. Laurentius is a Roman Catholic church in Bad Bocklet , a market in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen .

history

A first church in Bad Bocklet is documented for the year 1373. The old church of St. Mauritius , which was built around 1600, still exists. Today's St. Laurentius Church was built towards the end of the 1950s . On September 20, 1959, the inauguration took place by the Würzburg bishop Josef Stangl.

description

The church is rectangular in shape with a side chapel and a free-standing bell tower.

Furnishing

The church contains, among other things, a large altar wall painting by Curd Lessig . It represents Christ the Lord. The organ is set up on the southern gallery. The tone sequence of the four bells (originally three) is very likely e ′ - g sharp ′ - h ′ - c sharp ″.

Remarks

  1. The tones c sharp ″ and g sharp ′ are technically unequivocally established - otherwise, because of the altar painting, the author is convinced of the existence of a Te Deum chime before the fourth bell was purchased.
