history

In 1373 a church in Bad Bocklet was mentioned. Today's church was built around 1600 in the post-Gothic style of Prince-Bishop Julius Echter (coat of arms above the portal) to the east of the older, late-Gothic tower . In the 1950s the church became too small. The new St. Laurentius building was therefore built not far from it. Bad Bocklet was a branch of Aschach .

description

The two-story church tower, a Julius Echter tower , is in the west. Its basement serves as the entrance hall to the nave with two window axes (pointed arched windows). The eastern choir ends with the semicircular apse .

Furnishing

In the tower and nave there are frescoes from the respective construction period. On the high altar you can see a painting of the Coronation of Mary in Heaven, framed by figures of Saint Lawrence and Saint Stephen . To the left and right of the choir arch there is a crucifix and a small pietà above the altar plinth .
