The St. Leodegar Church is a Christian Catholic church building named after Leodegar von Autun in Möhlin , Canton Aargau , Switzerland .

The origins of Christianity in Möhlin go back to around 600; a church building is first documented in 794, at that time still under the patronage of St. Germanus, the first abbot in the monastery of Moutier-Grandval (640–675). In the Middle Ages the church was subordinate to the Beuggen monastery , and so the tithes had to be delivered to the Teutonic Order domiciled there .

The bell tower was renewed in 1398, the church building was extended for the last time in 1607. In the course of the Thirty Years' War it was devastated by Swedish troops in 1634 and was given a baroque interior during the subsequent restoration . Three bells in the church also date from this period; a fourth was added in 1967.

On December 12, 1872, the parish assembly of Möhlin decided to reject the dogmas of the First Vatican Council and in 1875 joined the newly founded Christian Catholic diocese of Switzerland. The Roman Catholics Möhlins founded their own parish in 1880.

The later Christian Catholic Bishop Hans Gerny worked as vicar at the Church of St. Leodegar .
