History and architecture

The wall pillar hall with retracted choir was built in 1699 as a south-facing hall church with arched windows on the building site of the lord of the castle. The chapel was consecrated in March 1702 by Abbot Florentinus van der Velde von Corvey . Thus the joint use of the Evangelical Church came to an end. The chapel was elevated to a parish church in 1933 and the wall pillar hall was added to the west.

Furnishing

  • The aedicular table with fluted columns and a pediment is a donation of the Corvey abbot Florence von Velde, the altar sheet was restored in 1933. The medallion in the extract was heavily retouched by Anton Joseph Stratmann in 1775 .

  • The figure of St. Laurentius made of wood was carved around 1700.
