The Church of St. Martin (or Martinskirche ) is a Roman Catholic church in Thun in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .

The church building was erected between 1969 and 1971 and inaugurated on May 20, 1971 by the Bishop of Basel Anton Hänggi . The architects were J. Naef, E. Studer and G. Studer from Zurich . The extension building was inaugurated on May 21, 1998.

Catchment area

The catchment area of ​​the parish extends to 26 political communities in the Bernese Oberland and Mittelland west of the Aare . About 6,200 Catholics live in the catchment area.
