history

St. Martin is a baroque hall church that was built between 1698 and 1723 from bricks and rubble instead of a previous building from the 14th century. The client was Count Christoph Ludwig Graf zu Stolberg-Stolberg . The two-story, rectangular windows on both sides of the nave are characteristic of the building . In 1865 an organ was installed . In 1941 restoration work followed on the lower part of the church. The entire building was damaged by bomb fragments in 1945.

In 1968 a community room was added to the east side of the nave. In 1983 the floor was renewed and in 1987 the church tower was completely renovated. In 1998 the bell cage was renovated.

From 2005, complex restoration work was carried out on three of the four outer walls in order to restore their stability. In 2008 the entire roof area was renewed, in 2010 another renewal of the floor followed. Also in 2010 the east side of the nave was renovated and the ceiling was repainted.
