history

The chapel was built in 1855. In 1905 it was rebuilt, with the three arched windows on the right long side being converted into niches. In 2001 and 2005 the church was restored. In 2006 a lightning strike damaged the roof turret and the bell.

architecture

The small hall building with a gable roof was built over a narrow sandstone base and is plastered. A large courtyard building was added on the north side at the beginning of the 20th century. So only three arched windows of the original six have been preserved on the southern long side. These are connected by a sandstone ledge that runs around the building. The entrance portal is on the gable side in the east. There is an oculus above it . On the gable is an open gable made of red sandstone with a bell. The rider is closed by a triangular gable with a cross on it.

Furnishing

altar

The two reliquaries as well as the stage-like altar structure probably originate from the Mettlach Abbey . The altar is supported by a massive base and a predella . On top of it the retable with tabernacle and above it a niche with a shell closure. Behind a crucifix you can see the sacrificial lamb and chalice into which the blood of the sacrificed lamb flows. In the center of the altar gable, an “ all-seeing eye of God ” can be seen, which is surrounded by a halo.

Sacred art

In addition to 14 images of the Stations of the Cross , ten larger statues are also part of the church's furnishings, nine stand on a console supported by an angel's head. On the left side wall are St. Anthony of Padua with the baby Jesus, St. Joseph, St. Anna, St. Judas Thaddäus . To the left of the altar is the Madonna of Lourdes. On the front wall to the left and right of the altar structure are the Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus . On the right side wall are St. Konrad von Parzham , who hands a boy a loaf, Mary with child and St. Maternus .
