History and architecture

Figure of St. Michael above the entrance

There is evidence of a small chapel from 1912 , which was demolished because it was in disrepair. In its place, a new chapel was built according to a design by building commissioner Franz Rehbein. The foundations were made of quarry stone and the walls were made of brick . The construction with a small tower was completed in November 1914.

The chapel from 1914 offered space for around 25 people. It soon turned out to be too small for a congregation of around 260 members. Therefore, a new building was built based on a design by the architect Konrad Brand from Hamm. He planned a lay room in which all parishioners would find space and which kept reserves by including the gallery still to be built . The existing chapel was attached to the new building on the right-hand side as a sacristy . In order to achieve a balanced unity in the front view, a wall was built to the left. The roof turret of the old chapel was reused in its unchanged form. A sandstone figure of the Archangel Michael is crowned above the portal . The chapel was on September 29, 1938 benediziert .

Bells

The chapel bells consist of three bronze bells. The small Marienglocke (c '' ') was cast in 1912. The Michaelsglocke (f '') and the Kunibertsglocke (as '') were made in 1950 by Albert Junker in Brilon from tin-free Brilon special bronze.
