The church

The Protestant village church of St. Michael is in the Großromstedt district of the city of Bad Sulza in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia .

history

The church from 1655 was renovated from 1976 to 1982 - the restoration adviser at the time was Horst Jahresling . In 1990 a new organ from the Böhme company from Gotha was inaugurated.

The church is entered in the list of cultural monuments in Saaleplatte.

legend

The legend has it that the Weimar Duke Ernst August forced the people of Großromstedt to give him this bell for the Weimar castle tower. However, when it started ringing by itself in the middle of the night and the bell ringer sometimes had unpleasant things happening during the day when the bell was rung, the Duke had it brought back to Großromstedt.
