Interior

The interior work began in the spring of 1951. The large fresco in the chancel is the work of the Munich artist Blasius Spreng . The picture depicts the battle between good and evil. In the middle, the archangel Michael steps down from the heights of heaven, in which Christ is enthroned, to ward off Satan . Pope Pius XII prays over this scene . before the throne of Christ. To the right of Christ sits Mary as a helping mother. On the side walls of the chancel, the crucifixion of Christ can be seen on the left and Saint Christopher with the Christ child on the right . A few years later, the sculptor Karl Muschalek from Windischeschenbach created the wooden sculptures above the former side altars; on the left is an annunciation group and on the right the worker figure of Joseph of Nazareth with the baby Jesus. The former altar cross, now attached to the rear of the tower, also comes from Karl Muschalek.

In 1998 the chancel was redesigned by the Neustadt artist Max Fischer. The high altar and the side altars were removed, a new altar, the tabernacle and a baptismal font made of limestone were built. The floor was also renewed, the walls whitewashed and the chairs renovated. The solemn altar conscription took place on February 21, 1999 by Bishop Manfred Müller . On June 2, 2002, the 50th anniversary was celebrated with the cathedral capitular Max Hopfner.
