St. Nikolai Church Waldheim

The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of St. Nikolai is the oldest church in the central Saxon town of Waldheim .

history

Its history can be traced back to the year 1336 . Originally probably a Romanesque hall building with a retracted choir , the church was destroyed in a major fire in the city in 1684. They were rebuilt on the site of today's market square in Waldheim. The new building also fell victim to a fire in the city in 1832.

The current church on the Kellerberg was rebuilt according to the plans of the master builder Christian Friedrich Uhlig . The foundation was laid in 1839 and the inauguration took place in 1842.

Peal

The ringing consists of three chill cast steel bells. The bell cage is made of an oak wood construction. The following is an overview of the data of the bell:

Church music
