St. Nikolaus (Wolbeck)
St. Nikolaus is a Catholic parish church in Wolbeck , a district of the city of Münster .
history
The original Gothic building was built in the 13th century. The model for the church was the Minorite Church in Münster .
The lower part of the tower is Romanesque and was also built in the 13th century. In the 17th century the tower was given a baroque structure.
To the east of the church is a chapel. It was built in the 18th century. It is the old sacristy that houses the crypt of the Counts of Merveldt .
organ
The organ was built in 1976 by the organ builder Paul Ott (Göttingen). The slider chest instrument has 30 stops on two manuals and pedal . 9 stops were taken from the previous organ by Friedrich Fleiter from 1894. In the course of a comprehensive renovation in 2006 by the organ builder S. Sauer (Höxter) u. a. also the disposition changed slightly. In 2010 three registers were exchanged, and in 2011 the Clairon horizontal register was added to the main plant. The action actions are mechanical, the stop action is electrical and is controlled by a setting system with 4000 free combinations.

Bells
St. Nicholas has a total of six bronze bells. The St. John's bell hangs in the tower lantern and strikes the time every half hour. The rest of the bells hang in the bell tower in the belfry.
