Evangelical Church Zollgrün

The Protestant village church St. Nikolaus is in the Zollgrün district of the city of Tanna in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

history

The church was first mentioned in 1445 and the village was mentioned in a document in 1343.

In 1922 the bells were consecrated , to which a third bell was added in 1974, and in 1957 the church was completely renovated. The galleries were given an artistic color scheme.

Furnishing

On the altar is a Gothic shrine without wings from 1553 with the mockery of Christ . In the chancel to the right is the font from 1628 and the font from 1828.

1981–1982 a new organ was installed, in 1990 the electric bells . 1992–1993 new windows followed; The plaster was repaired inside and out and a new coat of paint was applied. The cemetery wall was also repaired.

In 1994, memorial plaques for the victims of both world wars were placed on the outside wall of the church. In 1996 the church tower , the tower button and the cross were renovated . In 2003 the rooms were repaired. In 2007 the front door and in 2009 the community room and morgue were renovated.
