The St. Paul Institute for Theology and Philosophy (fr: Institut Saint Paul de Philosophie et de Théologie à Harissa) was founded in Harissa ( Lebanon ) in 1939 and is the only theological-philosophical college of the Melkite Church in the Middle East . The institute is directed by the priestly community of the Paulists . In 1972 the degrees were recognized by the state. There are two schools, the theological and the philosophical school and two linguistic branches (Arabic and French). The seminary is attached to the institute . In 2009 there are 40 professors teaching at the institute and around 40 students studying.

The rector of the institute has been Father Prof. Georges Khawam since 1995.
