St. Peter (Hettenkirchen)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The St. Peter branch church is the Catholic church in the hamlet of Hettenkirchen, a district of the municipality of Attenkirchen in the Upper Bavarian district of Freising . It was built on a small hill on the eastern outskirts and is now a listed building.

The beginnings of the church go back to the Middle Ages . The Gothic building was later redesigned in Baroque style.

Next to the high altar are two painted wooden figures about 70 centimeters high from the 16th century. One shows St. Wolfgang with his typical attributes : on the left a church and on the right the crosier. The other figure represents another, unspecified bishop, with a book in his right hand and the crosier in his left.

Under the gallery there is a representation of the church's patron, the apostle Simon Peter . He is holding a book in his left hand and a coat in his right. The painted wooden figure also dates from the 16th century.
