St. Remaclus, view to the choir tower

The Church of St. Remaclus (also: Saint-Remacle ) is a Roman Catholic church in Oberwampach , a district of Wintger in Luxembourg .

history

The oldest part of the church consecrated to St. Remaclus is the externally undeveloped Romanesque choir tower in the east with the choir in the tower basement from the 13th century. Remains of frescoes from the 15th century have been preserved on the west wall of the choir facing the nave . A new, larger nave was later added to the choir tower , with the medieval choir area being shifted from the axis to the south.

On the south side of the choir tower there is a memorial for the fallen of the Second World War in Oberwampach.
