St. Sebastianus is a Catholic chapel in the Koblenz district of Güls . It bears the patronage of St. Sebastian .

history

In 1866 a cholera epidemic in Güls claimed 12 victims. The residents then vowed to renew the old, dilapidated predecessor chapel. Today's building was built in the same year. This was last renovated in 2007.

construction

The St. Sebastianus Chapel is a small neo-Gothic brick building with a gable roof . An octagonal wooden roof turret rises on the roof . The ogival portal is stepped and alternately designed with bricks of different colors. In the groin-vaulted interior, the figure of St. Sebastian stands in a niche above the altar.

Monument protection

The St. Sebastianus Chapel is a protected cultural monument under the Monument Protection Act (DSchG) and entered in the list of monuments of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate . It is located in Koblenz-Güls (opposite) Wolfskaulstraße 38 .
