The church

The Protestant village church of St. Simon and Judas is in the Rohda district of the Thuringian capital of Erfurt . The parish belongs to the parish association Klettbach in the parish of Weimar of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

In place of the church there was a chapel until 1711 . It was demolished and the church rebuilt. The construction was completed in 1755.

architecture

The simple baroque church has a double gallery and a pulpit altar with the inscription: “Follow me”. The from Erfurt organ builder Johann Georg Schroeter created (1683-1747) organ was relocated due to construction; reconstruction has not yet been possible. The renovation of the beams and masonry outside and inside was completed in 1990.
