Ortisei in Thanheim

The Catholic parish church of St. Ulrich in Thanheim , a district of the Bisingen community in the Zollernalb district in Baden-Württemberg , was built in 1790 on the site of a dilapidated previous church.

The church consecrated to St. Ulrich was built on the model of the collegiate church in Hechingen, which was built ten years earlier in the classicist style. This is z. As illustrated by the fact that the upper floors of the Collegiate with cornices and rounded edges as the steeple serving skylights are similar to that of St. Ulrich.

In 1869 new altars in neo-Gothic style were installed. During the renovation work in the 1950s, the neo-Gothic altars were removed again, the colorful wall paintings attached in 1894 were whitewashed with Art Nouveau echoes and the original classicist style was restored.

Three bronze bells with the striking notes es ″ ± 0 - f ″ +2 - g ″ -3 are housed in the roof turret above the choir . Two were cast in 1950 by the Grüninger bell foundry , the third was made by Karl Zoller and is older.
