Chapel of St. Vitus in Mühlheim an der Donau with attached Ölberg chapel

The St. Vitus Chapel in Mühlheim an der Donau , a town in the Tuttlingen district in Baden-Württemberg , was built in the mid-15th century and redesigned in the 17th century. Further construction work took place in the 19th century.

The chapel in the middle of the cemetery stands next to the Gallus Church in the old town of Mühlheim.

The hall building on an irregular square floor plan made of plastered quarry stone masonry with a gable roof formerly served as an ossuary . The polygonal outer pulpit on the south facade can be closed with wooden shutters. The pulpit is decorated with stucco flower motifs . Two high windows, closing with segmental arches , flank the pulpit in the form of a bay window . On the south facade, where the portal is located, there are still remains of paintings from the 17th century.

The equipment , e.g. B. the statue of St. Vitus , is now in the Museum Vorderes Schloss in the upper town of Mühlheim.

The Mount of Olives chapel from tuff was built on the west side in the 19th century. A simple wooden cross is attached to the eastern gable.
