St. Willibrord Church (Neetze)
The Evangelical Lutheran St. Willibrord Church (after St. Willibrord ) is a field stone church in Neetze in the Lower Saxony district of Lüneburg . It belongs to the parish Neetze in the parish of Lüneburg in the Lüneburg district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover .
architecture
It is a field stone building that dates back to the 13th century in parts. The church is a late Gothic building with a three-sided east end. At the south portal there is a Taustab profile that was created around 1500.
The west tower, which was built in half-timbering, probably dates from 1717. Today it is clad with bricks.
Furnishing
Inside there is a large gothic carved altar made by a Lüneburg master. The altar was built around 1420. The predella and side wings were added in 1592. A prieche is decorated with a coat of arms. They are the coats of arms of the von Bothmer family and the von Hahne family. The Prieche was created around 1600. In the literature (memorable antiquarian of the Elbstromes from 1741) it is reported that on the north side of the altar there was a famous crucifix called Sankt Hulpe (according to another version (according to teacher Klingsing) in the pre-Reformation period in the Near the baptismal font a column, the so-called 'tulip'.) Flax was sacrificed at its feet because it was believed that this would be of particular benefit to women giving birth.
