The Canton Mouthoumet was 2015 a French canton in the department of Aude and the region Languedoc-Roussillon . It included 18 parishes in the Arrondissement of Carcassonne ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Mouthoumet . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015.

The canton was 274.97 km 2 and last had 1,404 inhabitants (as of 2012), which corresponded to a population density of 5 inhabitants per km 2 . It was on average at 403  m , between 190  m in Vignevieille and 932  m in Soulatgé.
