The canton of Montréal was a French canton in the Aude department in the Languedoc-Roussillon region until 2015 . It comprised nine parishes in the Arrondissement of Carcassonne ; his main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Montréal . With the nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons in March 2015, its member municipalities were assigned to the new, considerably enlarged canton of La Malpère à la Montagne Noire .

The canton was 134.26 km 2 and last had 7,774 inhabitants (as of 2012), which corresponded to a population density of 58 inhabitants per km 2 . It was on average at 215  m , between 117  m and 443  m (both in Montréal).
