The Canton Limoux was 2015 a French canton in the department of Aude and the region Languedoc-Roussillon . It included 23 parishes in the Arrondissement of Carcassonne ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Limoux . With the nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons in March 2015, its member municipalities were assigned to the new canton of La Région Limouxine .
The canton was 231.47 km² and last had 17,206 inhabitants (as of 2012), which corresponded to a population density of 74 inhabitants per km². It was on average at 953 m , between 146 m in Cépie and 781 m in Véraza.
