The Canton Alzonne was 2015 a French canton in the department of Aude and the region Languedoc-Roussillon . It comprised 11 parishes in the Arrondissement of Carcassonne ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Alzonne . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015.
The canton was 146.99 km² and last had 8,725 inhabitants (as of 2012), which corresponded to a population density of 59 inhabitants per km². It was on average at 151 m , between 102 m in Ventenac-Cabardès and 407 m in Montolieu.
