The canton of Capendu was a French canton in the Aude département and in the Languedoc-Roussillon region until 2015 . It included 18 parishes in the Arrondissement of Carcassonne ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Capendu . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015.
The canton was 171.08 km² and last had 13,637 inhabitants (as of 2012), which corresponds to a population density of 80 inhabitants per km². It was on average at 105 m , between 48 m in Saint-Couat-d'Aude and 601 m in Moux.
