The building is located at the junction of St Mary's Lane and High Street, northwest of the city center. The bell tower on the south side dominates the neo-Gothic building. It has an octagonal floor plan. Buttresses divide its facade vertically between the six two-part ogival tracery . The tower closes with a squat, pointed helmet with a cast-iron weather vane on top. On the left is a round Lady Chapel with a conical roof . The twelve-axis-wide side aisles of the basilica are designed with paired ogival tracery and articulating buttresses. The windows in the upper aisle are coupled to triplets . There are lead glass windows used.

In the interior, an arcade of yellowish sandstone resting on gray plinths separates the aisles.
