The State University of Semey ( Kazakh Шәкәрім атындағы Семей мемлекеттік университеті ; Russian Семипалатинский государственный университет имени Шакарима ) in Kazakhstan's Semipalatinsk area East Kazakhstan is one of three universities of the city of Semipalatinsk. It was founded in 1995 and named after the Kazakh poet Shakarima Kudajberdyjewa .

Between 1996 and 2003 it formed the city's state university together with the State Pedagogical Institute Semei . Here specialists for agriculture , the humanities , veterinary medicine , economics and law and sociology are trained.
