Ursula von Sachsen-Lauenburg (* 1552/53; † October 12, 1620 in Scharnebeck ) was a princess of Sachsen-Lauenburg and by marriage Duchess of Braunschweig - Dannenberg .

Life

Ursula was a daughter of Duke Franz I of Saxony-Lauenburg (1510–1581) from his marriage to Sibylle (1515–1592), daughter of Duke Heinrich of Saxony .

In 1569 she married Duke Heinrich von Braunschweig-Dannenberg (1533–1598). Heinrich had requested the division of the principality due to his marriage intentions, but had to come to terms with the paragiate Dannenberg because of settlements that had previously been made . Ursula was considered an excellent princess who also had an influence on Lauenburg's politics.

Ursula died in her widow's seat, the former Scharnebeck monastery, and was buried in the St. Johannis Church in Dannenberg.
