Julius Ernst (Braunschweig-Dannenberg)
Julius Ernst von Braunschweig-Dannenberg (born March 11, 1571 ; † October 26, 1636 ) was the owner of the Dannenberg estate from 1598 until his death in 1636 .
Life and family
Julius Ernst was born in 1571 as the son of Heinrich von Braunschweig-Dannenberg (1533–1598) and Ursula von Sachsen-Lauenburg (1552 / 3–1620). After the death of his father in 1598 he became Prince of Dannenberg . He died without a male heir, so his brother August inherited him , who merged the principality with his own inheritance, Hitzacker .
From 1618 Adrian von Mynsicht (1588–1638) was employed as a medical doctor by Duke Julius Ernst.
Julius Ernst was married twice, first to Maria von Ostfriesland (* January 1, 1582; † July 9, 1616), the daughter of Edzard II. He had two children with her.

- Maria Katharina (July 9, 1616 - July 1, 1665) 65 Adolf Friedrich I of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1588–1658).
After her death in 1616, he married Sybille von Braunschweig-Lüneburg (June 3, 1584-5 August 1652), daughter of Wilhelm von Braunschweig-Lüneburg . He also had two children with her.
