The Stade Marcel-Verchère is a rugby and football stadium in the French city ​​of Bourg-en-Bresse in the Ain department . It is the home ground of the rugby club US Bressane in the Pro D2 , the second highest division in French rugby . In addition, the football club FC Bourg-Péronnas , currently in the National (D3) , uses the stadium.

history

The facility bears the name of the rugby player Marcel Verchère , a US Bressane player who was injured in a brutal foul during the game against US Oyonnax on October 24, 1937 and died two days later. The Stade Marcel-Verchère offers 11,500 seats, of which 5,500 are seats. The playing field has had a hybrid turf (AirFibr) since summer 2015 . In 2017 the stadium got a new north stand. Further modifications to the system are planned for 2018.
