Union Sportive Bressane Pays de l'Ain is a rugby union club from the French city of Bourg-en-Bresse in the Ain department . He is represented in the highest amateur league Fédérale 1 and plays his home games at the Stade Marcel-Verchère .
history
In the first few years the US Bressane, founded in 1902, was a multi- branch club , with the cycling section initially being the largest. Soon, however, the club specialized in rugby. In 1939 the club won the championship title of the second division and rose, but because of the Second World War , no games could be played in the three following seasons. The US Bressane could not keep up with the best teams and rose again in 1955. In 1958, the US Bressane was again the best team in the second division, followed three years later by relegation.
After the team had been the best team in the second division for the third time in 1966, it was able to establish itself in the first division for a long time. In 1972 and 1983 she reached the second round of the championship. In the mid-1980s, he was relegated to the second and finally to the third division (today's Fédérale 1 ). As the runner-up in the amateur league Fédérale 1, the US Bressane rose in 2008 to the Pro D2 , but had to relegate immediately after 15th place in the following season. In 2013/14 the club stayed in the second division for just one season.
