The Catholic city ​​chapel St. Andreas is a listed church building in Medebach , a town in the Hochsauerlandkreis in North Rhine-Westphalia .

architecture

The small three-bay hall with a 5/8 end was built in 1341. It is held in coarse early Gothic forms and provided with burr- cut vaults. To the left and right of the choir walls are various figures of saints. The Hl. Agatha and Hl. Odilia derived from the existence of the Augustinerinnen Glindfeld convent .

history

The Andreas chapel was first mentioned in a document in 1283. However, some components date from the 8th century. On an inscription is the year 1341, in which the chapel was renovated. The St. Andreas Chapel is the oldest building in Medebach. The baroque furnishings come from the second half of the 17th century. The altar was built from 1670 to 1680.
