Feldberg town church

The town church is the Protestant church in Feldberg in the Feldberg lake landscape . It belongs to the Neustrelitz Propstei of the Mecklenburg Church District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany ( Northern Church ).

history

In 1870 the old half-timbered church burned down on the Amtswerder. Today's Feldberger Stadtkirche was built by Joseph Wilhelm Richard as a successor from 1872 to 1875 on the former cemetery and today's Kirchberg .

architecture

The church is a brick building as a basilica with transept-like extensions and an apse. Outwardly, the church is simply structured. The central nave rises up inside. The side aisles attached to the left and right appear somewhat low to the central nave. The floor plan of a cruciform church can be seen. The belt arches of the ship are round, the apse is divided by round arched wall niches.

The furnishings from the construction period of the church include an altar painting of Ecce homo by the painter Georg Kannengießer from Neustrelitz . The organ is a work from 1874 by Barnim Grüneberg with 18 stops on two manuals and a pedal .

The west tower is high and, due to the location of the church, can be seen from afar. The design effort is evident on the superstructure of the tower.
