City Lexicon Dresden

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dresden City Lexicon. A – Z is a local history reference work for Dresden , first edition in 1994 and 1998 in a slightly revised second edition , which was published by Dresden Verlag der Kunst .

The work is aimed at the general public. In addition to the city's history in the introduction, there are more than 2000 lexicon entries containing information about Dresden's topography, city history, economic development, architecture, culture and art, health and social services, educational institutions and Dresden personalities from all areas. Living people were not recorded. Folke Stimmel is the main author of the six employees. The individual entries are not marked, they also lack the references. The lexicon is supplemented by a combined index of keywords and persons, as well as a chronological table on the city's history; there is no significant map material.
