Trawnig (Polish: Trawniki ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Pawlowitzke in the powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski (Kandrzin-Cosel district) in the Opole Voivodeship .
geography
Trawnig is located around nine kilometers northwest of the municipal seat Pawłowiczki ( Pawlowitzke ), 17 kilometers west of the district town of Kędzierzyn-Koźle ( Kandrzin-Cosel ) and 40 kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Opole .
history
In 1805 a Catholic school was founded. In 1865 Trawnig consisted of a manor and a village. At that time the village had ten farms, 24 gardeners and 25 cottagers, as well as a Kretscham called Goldfußkretscham.
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 290 eligible voters voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 39 for membership of Poland. At Gut Trawnig, 68 voted for Germany and one for Poland. After the division of Upper Silesia, Trawnig remained with the German Empire . On May 16, 1936, the place was renamed Grünweide OS in the course of a wave of renaming during the Nazi era . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Cosel .
In 1945 the previously German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Trawniki . The district of Cosel was renamed Powiat Kozielski. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1975 the powiat Kozielski was dissolved. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski . On September 30, 2014, the place was also given the official German place name Trawnig .
