Klein Grauden (Polish: Grudynia Mała ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Pawlowitzke in the powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski (Kandrzin-Cosel district) in the Opole Voivodeship .

Klein Grauden is located about eight kilometers west of the municipal seat Pawłowiczki (Pawlowitzke) , 22 kilometers southwest of the district town Kędzierzyn-Koźle (Kandrzin-Cosel) and 49 kilometers south of the voivodeship capital Opole .

history

The place originated in the 14th century at the latest and was first mentioned in 1354 as "Parvum Grudyn". In 1532 it was mentioned as Klain-Grudny.

The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Entries describing Silesia as Klein Grauden , was in the district of Cosel and had 162 inhabitants, a farm, eight farmers, 16 gardeners and two cottagers. In 1865 Borislawitz consisted of a manor and a village community. At that time the village had eight farmers, 13 gardeners and seven cottagers, as well as a post mill. The church and school were located in Groß Grauden.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 117 people eligible to vote voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and seven for membership of Poland. At Gut Klein Grauden, 80 voted for Germany and one for Poland. Klein Grauden remained with the German Empire after the division of Upper Silesia . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Cosel .

In 1945 the previously German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Grudynia Mała . The district of Cosel was renamed Powiat Kozielski. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1975 the powiat Kozielski was dissolved. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Kędzierzyńsko-Kozielski . On September 30, 2014, the place was also given the official German place name Klein Grauden .
