The City Police Windhoek ( English Windhoek City Police Service , WCPS ) is the municipal police ( security service ) of the Namibian capital Windhoek and was founded in 2004. The city police force is also known as the mamba .
In 2011, the WCPS comprised a total of 405 police officers (target number 459) and more than 50 emergency vehicles (as of August 2010). The task of the city police is to maintain urban security and traffic safety. However, she is not allowed to conduct her own investigations and therefore works closely with the Namibian police .
It is divided into three areas, each of which is headed by a police chief. These are subordinate to the chief of the city police.

Since mid-August 2010, the city police has been divided into four operational areas with a total of 22 operational zones. In addition, in November 2010, 30 surveillance cameras were installed in prominent locations throughout Windhoek, which are controlled from a surveillance center.
