The Stadtwerke Delitzsch GmbH (SWD) is a municipal utility companies for electricity , natural gas and heat in the metropolitan area Delitzsch .
history
The historical development began in 1906, the Magistrate of Delitzsch and the “Elecktricitäs-Lieferungsgesellschaft-Berlin” signed a concession agreement. In 1907 the first electricity was supplied to Delitzsch by the “Elektricitätswerk Bitterfeld”.
What began with the first lines and stations has been continuously expanded. In 1970 VEB Energiekombinat West took over the power supply and eight years later began supplying district heating to the first Delitzsch apartment block. This was followed by several structural changes in the Delitzscher energy supply, until the Technische Werke Delitzsch GmbH was founded on December 4, 1991 , which initially began with district heating . In 1995, TWD took over the power supply for 14,300 customers from Westsächsische Energie AG (WESAG). The gas supply and the operation of the electricity, gas and heating networks were taken over by TWD in 2014 through the merger of Gasversorgung Delitzsch GmbH and Delitzsch Netz GmbH into TWD.
The company was confirmed in 2012 that it meets the strict requirements of the Technical Safety Management (TSM) of the German Association for Gas and Water. V. (DVGW).
