The Stadtwerke Pirmasens traffic GmbH , abbreviated SWP , is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stadtwerke Pirmasens GmbH . They operate the city ​​bus service in Pirmasens . history

In 1905 the Pirmasens tram was put into operation with a route length of around 2.5 kilometers. The first regular service with diesel buses started in 1939. The Pirmasens trolleybus was introduced in 1941 and the tram was shut down in 1943. In 1963, construction of the depot at the stretch bridge began. In 1967 the second trolleybus line was converted to diesel operation. In 1970 the Verkehrsgemeinschaft Pirmasens (VGP) was founded to jointly serve the suburbs by post and rail. In 1994 the call group traffic (ASV) began. Six years later, in 2000, Stadtwerke Pirmasens joined the West Palatinate Transport Association WVV . In 2006 the municipal utilities were finally integrated into the Rhein-Neckar transport association (VRN).
