Stage Two is a power metal - band from Germany.

Band history

The band was formed in the summer of 2000. Of the founding members, only Martin Kirsch (guitar) and Simon Kappeller (bass) remain, who strengthened themselves with the talented drum student Ole Fahnick in the early stages. However, the band only found their own style after the entry of singer Elena Bihler.

In autumn / winter 2002 Stage Two went into the studio for the first time with short-term support from guitarist Sebastian Boll and recorded the album Steppin 'Out , which included numerous hard rock pieces as well as heavy metal pieces.

In the search for a second permanent guitarist, they came across Michael Koch (formerly Dark Yearning ), who in turn was looking for a band where he could live out his passion for hard music. After getting along very well musically and personally, Stage Two found a stable line-up in July 2003 . Shortly thereafter, the Munich label MSG Records offered to produce the next album after the band had prevailed over the competition in an online competition. However, the five musicians decided to remain label-independent for the time being.

With the arrival of Koch, a phase of change began in which the band moved further and further away from their hard rock roots. The album Stage Two , released in February 2005, is a pure heavy metal production with clear borrowings from bands such as Iron Maiden , Edguy , Nightwish or Black Sabbath . In January 2005, the two extractions build Farewell and Voice from Behind sequentially No. 2 in the metal charts of Europe's largest music community mp3.de .

style

The music moves in the realm of melodic heavy metal , although the songs on the first album Steppin 'Out are even more hard rock . A special element is Elena Bihler's voice, which gives the band a certain independence in male-dominated Power Metal .
