Stan Nicholls

Stan Nicholls (* 1949 in London , England ) is a British writer. He worked in the office of the London Library Congress between 1965 and 1971, where he became assistant director. At that time he was co-editor of the two smaller magazines " Gothique " and " Stardock ". In 1966 he finally founded the " Gothique " film company, which is now one of the oldest specialized film companies in England. From 1971 to 1973 he was the managing director and co-owner of the London bookstore "Bookends", and he also worked as a research assistant for Dennis Wheatley's library of occultism (which consists of about 45 volumes).

Nicholls, who is of Australian descent, was the managing director of "Dark They Were and Golden Eyed" in London from 1973 to 1976, the largest comic shop in Europe at the time. Then he was one of the first managers of the famous London science fiction bookstore "Forbidden Planet". He also helped set up the New York office and later worked as a consultant for this company. However, he retired in 1981 to concentrate fully on his writing .

Today Stan Nicholls lives with his wife, also an author and journalist , Anne Gay , in the West Midlands of England.

He is a fan of classic fantasy and sci-fi authors like Michael Moorcock .
