Stanislaw Paczka
Stanisław Paczka (* 16th September 1945 in Kuków ; † 1. February 1969 in Koenigssee ) was a Polish luger .
Paczka was one of the most talented Polish luge riders of the 1960s. In the juniors he won five national titles in singles (1961, 1962) and doubles (1961–1963). As a senior, he won the doubles title with Lucjan Kudzia in 1968 and was multiple runner-up. He took part in several world and European championships . At the European Championships in Weissenbach near Liezen in 1962 , he took 12th place in both the single and the doubles. At the 1965 World Championships in Davos , he placed seventh, more than nine seconds behind winner Hans Plenk . Together with Lucjan Kudzia, he also competed at the 1968 Winter Olympics on the track in Villard-de-Lans . They finished ninth in the Olympic two-seater race.
During the second run of the 1969 World Championships , Paczka was carried on February 1, 1969 in a curve out of the combined ice rink at Königssee . A little later he succumbed to the serious injuries sustained.
