Stanislas Guyard

Stanislas Guyard (* 1846 , † 1884 ) was a versatile French orientalist , Arabist and Islamic scholar . One of his main works is his book about the Grand Master of the Assassins in the time of Sultan Saladin . He worked on the Encyclopedie des Sciences Religieuses published by Frédéric Lichtenberger (1832–1899) and translated the geography of Aboulfeda from Arabic into French. From 1868 he taught Arabic and Persian at the École pratique des hautes études .
