Stanislaus Graß

Stanislaus Graß (born February 15, 1885 in Cologne ; † in the 20th century) was police chief in Bochum .

Life

After leaving elementary school, Stanislaus Graß learned the profession of lathe operator. From 1905 to 1908 he did military service with the 3rd Sea Battalion in the Kiautschau nature reserve . From 1911 Graß worked as an employee for the Christian Metal Workers' Association in Düsseldorf and rose in the union hierarchy to the first chairman of the cartel of Christian unions. In January 1929 he moved to the police headquarters in Bochum and in February was commissioned to temporarily manage the post of police chief. In June he definitely held the position. After the National Socialists came to power, he was given a leave of absence in the spring of 1933 and then put into temporary retirement . The legal basis for this measure was Section 6 of the Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service . The SS-Obergruppenführer Fritz Schleßmann later took over the post of police president. On April 12, 1944, Graß was sentenced to two years in prison by the Cologne Regional Court for war economic crimes. He was a member of the center and from 1924 to 1929 city councilor in Duisburg. At a later point in time he joined the NSDAP .
