life and work
Maria Anna Schey entered the Darfeld-Rosenthal monastery on July 6, 1805 , accepted the religious name Stanislaus and made her vows on July 26, 1806 . From 1811 to 1814 she lived hidden with her community in Cologne . In 1825 she went with the last remaining nuns in Darfeld under Superior Hélène Van den Broeck to the later Oelenberg Abbey , which was prepared by Petrus Klausener and which until 1895 housed Trappists of both sexes. Schey was superior of the women's monastery from 1826 until her death (successor: Joséphine Merklin). She humbly did not exercise the right to benediction as abbess granted her on July 8, 1827 . On the run from the July Revolution , Schey led her community to the Beinwil Monastery in Switzerland in 1830 , from there to Laufen BL in 1831 and back to Oelenberg on August 24, 1833.
