Stanislav Moša

Stanislav Moša (born February 12, 1956 in Nový Jičín ) is a Czech director , screenwriter and theater director .

After graduating from high school, Moša first studied music at the Ostrava State Conservatory and acting at the Janáček Academy in Brno. In 1983 he got a position as a director at the Mrštík Brothers Theater in Brno, where he became its artistic director. In addition, he taught at the Janáček Academy from 1984 to 1994, where he headed the drama studio for three years. In 1992 he became the director of the Brno City Theater. Under his direction, the city theater's second venue was a music theater, which opened in 2004.

As a director, Moša has worked on more than 150 productions, including plays and many musicals such as West Side Story , My Fair Lady , Jesus Christ Superstar , Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat , The Witches of Eastwick , Oliver! , Fame , Cabaret , Evita , Beauty and the Beast and Les Misérables at the Brno City Theater. He was also active as a director in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. As a librettist and text author Moša has worked for Zdeněk Merta and Petr Ulrych, among others . He edited Hašek's famous novel The Good Soldier Schwejk for the stage and realized several theater productions for Czech television.
