Stanley Johnson (born August 18, 1940 in Penzance , Cornwall ) is a British politician, author and expert on environmental and population policy.

He is the son of Osman Kemal (later Wilfred Johnson) and Irene Williams, the daughter of Stanley Fred Williams from Bromley in Kent , and his wife Marie Louise de Pfeffel, an illegitimate descendant of Prince Paul von Württemberg in Württemberg . Johnson was a member of the European Parliament from 1979 to 1984 as a member of the Conservative Party for the constituency of Wight and Hampshire East . Johnson is the grandson of the last Ottoman Interior Minister Ali Kemal Bey and the father of Boris , Rachel, Leo and Jo Johnson . He worked at the World Bank , where he was particularly interested in environmental policy. He has published a number of books on environmental issues as well as several novels.
